CHI at Tallaght is one of two Paediatric Outpatient and Urgent Care Centres which are part of the new children’s hospital project, the second one – CHI at Connolly – opened in Blanchardstown in July 2019. CHI at Tallaght will facilitate a significant transformation of services for families and children. It will enable the delivery of a new model of care in paediatric services in south county Dublin and its environs, delivering the right care, at the right time, in the right facility, as close to the child’s home as is possible, as outlined in Sláintecare.
Construction work on the 4,600m2 Paediatric Outpatient and Urgent Care Centre at CHI is nearing an end with a substantial completion date scheduled for September 2021. It will then be handed over to Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) to open for services after an 8-week period of operational commissioning and equipping.
